Fun With Facts!

Consumer Debt Statistics
The latest statistics from the Federal Reserve indicate that the total amount of consumer debt outstanding remained fairly steady in 2007. In case you're wondering the total amount of consumer debt in the United States stands at nearly $2.6 trillion dollars - and based on the latest Census statistics, that works out to be nearly $8,500 in debt for every man, woman and child that lives here in the US.

2.6 Trillion?  Didn't we just give 750 Billion to the banks?  We could have given the money to the banks by forgiving consumer debt.  Taking Consumer debt down to 1.85 Trillion.

We're about to approve another 825 Billion to be dished out to the banks again.  If we forgave consumer debt with that 825 Billion...  Total Consumer Debt would be down to 1.05 Trillion.

Who wants to see their debt (that includes your Mortgage) reduced by a whopping 67%?

Naw, let's just give money to banks so they can buy $68,000 chairs and new corporate jets.
