Chicago Tribune | Baghdad police hit by brazen attack

Chicago Tribune | Baghdad police hit by brazen attack: "BAGHDAD -- More than a dozen insurgents armed with a car bomb, assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenade launchers attacked Iraqi police patrols in western Baghdad on Wednesday, killing at least eight people and wounding 28 others in one of the bloodiest street clashes in the Iraqi capital in months.

The violence broke out on a sweltering afternoon amid the busy, shop-lined streets of al-Jamiya, a Sunni Arab neighborhood, and continued about two hours before Iraqi police regained control. Six of the dead were Iraqi civilians; two were Iraqi police, an Iraqi law-enforcement source said."

You might even think there was a civil war in Iraq...
